MEMORIAL BRIDGE TRAFFIC CLOSURE FOR TWO HOURS ON JUNE 3
PORTSMOUTH-KITTERY US ROUTE 1 BRIDGE OVER PISCATAQUA RIVER

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces the planned closure to traffic of the Memorial Bridge in Portsmouth on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

This closure is necessary to allow for the detailed inspection of the north tower of the bridge carrying US Route 1 over the Piscataqua River between Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Kittery, Maine.  Motorists are asked to find alternative routes during this time period.

This inspection work is part of the planned detailed inspections of the two lift bridges connecting Portsmouth, NH and Kittery, Maine.
